Mdina Glass

My collection of Mdina sculptural weights, graduating from 11cms - 33cms.
The Mdina Glass factory was founded in Malta in 1969 by Michael Harris. His inspiration was taken from the scenery of the Island. The colours are vibrant blues of the sky & sea and yellows of the sand.
Joseph Said has been at Mdina from the very beginning and was the first Maltese glassmaker employed by Michael Harris. Joseph was the companies production manager until 1985 when he took over as owner &
managing director of Mdina Glass, a post he still holds to this day.

Louis Hudson

Fantastic large pair of Louis Hudson slab vases recently purchased from Nanadobbie in Lostwithial. They each measure 18cms tall x 17cms wide and are a matching pair, displayed showing both sides.
Louis Hudson opened the pottery in Trethevy Cornwall in 1971, closing in 1983 to become a lorry driver.  His work includes lamp bases, wheel vases, slab vases & cylinder vases in stoneware featuring distinctive geometric mouldings that reflects Cornish ceramics of the time. Usually marked with an impressed LH but not all pieces are signed.

I also recently purchased this beautiful Louis Hudson cylinder vase that measures 24cms tall and has been added to my growing collection.
